Mayan Calendar
In its most simple terms, what is the deal with December 21 2012  and the End of the
Mayan Calendar
?

This will be the simplified version as the actual description is very complicated.
However we will provide you with a link to the scientific explanation as well.

In short, the
Mayan Calendar is a 3 part calendar. One part is a religious calendar
that is broken into 260 days. (20 weeks of 13 days) Next there is the solar calendar
that represents 365 days similar to our own calendar.

These two parts can spin, one inside the other as cogs or gears. Thusly religious days
rotate around the solar days which indicate special significance.

The third part of the calendar is the "long count" which can sequence the first two
parts forward into the future but only to the date of December 21, 2012. This is the
end of the Mayan Calendar and marks the end of a period of time measured by the
long count which is a repeating cycle of 7200 days called the Katun cycle.

As the 3 sections of the calendar rotate, each day and each cycle has corresponding
astrological influences. The last repeating Katun we experience with this calender is
Katun 2 which began in 1998 and ends on December 21 2012 which is the winter
equinox. This Katun which states as I paraphrase "an old age dies, a new age may
emerge. Half the world will be covered by floods, famine, destruction of governments
and half will have food. The time will be herald by floods, earthquakes and weather
changes.

It should be known that the Mayan Calendar was found on a stone tablet that is
called the Sun Wheel and is on display at the national museum in Mexico City. The
reason this should be mentioned is that the Sun Wheel, which includes solar days
will, in December of 2012 coincide with the largest anticipated sun spot activity in
the earths history.

Sun Wheel
provide you with the short answer which will help you to understand the astronomical description as to why this
is.

Our sun has a solar cycle of 11 years at which time it produces sun spots. It is believed this happens due to a
relationship between the sun and Jupiter. Both the sun and Jupiter (the largest planet in our solar system)
actually wobble in their positions. We believe the Sun remains still but it actually wobbles millions of miles due
to the gravitational relationship between its self and Jupiter. This sort of shakes the mass of the sun which in turn
causes solar flairs at the time of the sun spots every 11 years.

In 2012 this wobbling well be directly on its cycle to produce these solar flairs. Thats not all ...

Our solar system (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) are like a disk of
sorts as we all know. Well this tiny disk compared to the galaxy is usually just above the flat edge of the larger
disk that is the Milky way.  Our solar system orbits in the Milky way as due the planets around the sun. In 2012,
our disk will be moving from the top of the Milky way disk and into the center. Picture a round pizza (Milky
way) and we are one pepperoni. We usually sit on the top just like the pepperoni. However in 2012 the
pepperoni will move inside the crust of the pizza. Our solar system will move into the center of the Milky way
as it does every 21,000 years. At this time our solar system will be in complete alignment with all the
gravitational forces of the Milky way on one horizontal plane. This will exert tremendous forces on our solar
system. This will coincide with the normal 11 year cycle of the sun and its solar flares. Furthermore, the sun's
magnetic polar axis is due to shift again in 2012 on its normal cycle.

So this is where we are and the irony is this "end" aligns its self with this factual alignment of the solar system
with the center of the Milky way on the Suns normal 11 year cycle.

Back in
1989, normal solar flare activity shut down power grids and fried cell phone satellites in Northern
America. Common sense would suggest the alignment of all the galaxy's gravitational forces upon us in one
plane of force will heighten the Solar Flare activity to a maximum. Unlike the scare of Y2K, this situation is real,
and the honest truth is no one knows for sure what may happen. But it is a certainty that we will experience Solar
Flare activity that will be greater than we have ever experienced. Potentially this could shut down all electrical
systems on earth, permanently. We will just have to wait and see ultimately.
